    A Latte Sweets

    A Latte Sweets is open this Friday. Try our special item in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. A portion of the sales will go to the American Cancer Society. Remember, there’s a whole lotta love at a latte sweets.

    Foreign Exchange Club

    Reminder: All those who are interested in traveling to ECUADOR/PANAMA during the Summer of 2015, please remember that your deposit and application are due Thursday, October 23rd. The deposit is $350. See Ms. Calvo in the World Language Office to pick up an application!
    Foreign Exchange Club members! Please remember that we will not meet this Wednesday, 10/22 due to early dismissal. We will meet NEXT THURSDAY, 10/30 for the Halloween Night Fest. Pizza will be provided. Bring a friend to decorate our room! See Ms. Calvo, Mrs. Stirlen or Mr. Correa in World Language with any questions.


    Calling all Faces to join the friendly Faces of Face! See what we’re all about: art, writing, and fun – no experience necessary! Our next meeting is in the MORNING, 7:45 in art room 256 on Wednesday, Oct.22. We will plan our room for the PHS trick-or-treat night as well as the revival of a Face party.

    Adventure Club

    Want a chance to climb at the largest climbing gym in the nation? Come to our adventure club meeting this Friday, October 17th morning at 7:30am in room 189. see Mr. prentice  with any questions!

    Service Club

    This week, service club will be helping with a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer awareness month. We will be selling lots of pink items, including long sleeve and short sleeve shirts, socks, pencils, pins, bandanas, and ribbons in the cafeteria Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! Stop by and stock up to help Paint Palatine Pink!

    International Club

    Want to carve a pumpkin and win some cool prizes? International Club is hosting a pumpkin carving contest Wednesday, October 29th after school. Grab a teammate and sign up through the homeroom page. Sign up quickly as there is limited space. There is a $5 entry fee per team. See you there!

    Social Studies Club

    Love Social Studies, current events, history, psychology, military affairs or politics? Join Social Studies Club! Social Studies Club will meet Wednesday, October 22. Come for the FREE DONUTS and stay to help us plan Veterans Day Activities and future field trips. If you have a veteran or active military service member in your life, we want to hear from you! Join us at our meeting October 22. We meet at 7:40 AM in Rm. 279.  See Mrs. Hamman or Mr. Bays with questions.


    Audition information, audition sheets, and vocal audition packets for ANNIE, the Palatine High School Winter Musical, are available in the music wing hallway.  Vocal Workshops will be held after school on November 6th and 7th in the Choir Room.  Auditions for the show will be November 11th and 12th, with call backs on November 13th.  Stop in and see Mr. Sivak in the music department if you have any questions.

    Career Trek

    Students interested in careers in Theater, including: acting, directing, sound & lighting technology, sign up in Student Services for the November 4 career trek to Marriott Lincolnshire Theater.


    Students interested in careers in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts or Event Planning, sign up in Student Services for the October 23 career trek to Stonegate Banquet & Conference Centre.


    Students interested in chemistry or chemistry of foods, learn how to turn this interest into a career. Sign up for the October 30 career trek to FONA–an international leader in the flavor industry.


    Students interested in Information Technology (IT) careers including software engineers, test engineers and user interface specialists, sign up in Student Services for the October 28th career trek to kCura.




    Cutlass Halloween story contest. Basic guidelines: Keep the story school appropriate- No offensive language and keep the gore to a minimum. Turn it in on time. Stories submitted past 3:30 pm on Oct. 26 will not be accepted. Only submit original stories.  Use 1,000 words or less.  Submit it by emailing it to Cutlass at phs.cutlass@gmail.com. All stories will be due on Monday, Oct. 26 by 3:30 pm.

    Fall Play

    This year’s Fall Play is Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland. Whether it is the wonderfully naive Alice, the always funny but oddly disturbing Humpty Dumpty, or the deliciously cruel Queen of Hearts, audience members of all ages will find something to love about this show. The show is Thursday, October 16th through Saturday, October 18th at 7:00pm. There is also special children’s matinee on that Saturday at 2:00pm. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and children.
