    Presidents Club

    Presidents Club is proud to introduce the Mr. Pirate contestants 2017:  Nick Migacz, Prakash Nigam, Ronak Patel, Evan Vorbroker and Zach Walczynski.   The Mr. Pirate contest will take place on Thursday, March 23.  Mark your calendars today!


    The Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) is meeting on Friday, March 3rd at 7:45 AM in room 203. We will be planning for the National Day of Silence in April. ALL are welcome to attend! See Mrs. Ross or Mrs. Kupka in English with any questions.

    Girls Lacrosse

    If you missed the informational meeting last week but you are still interested in playing girls lacrosse it is not too late!  Please see Coach Schock or Coach Flores in the Social Studies office for information about try-outs!


    “Students who are or has ever  been in the ESL program are encouraged to apply for the Alejandro Diaz Scholarship.
    Two students will receive a scholarship of $1000 each. You have to fill in the applications online  and turn it in by  March 10.
    Applications  with instructions are available on the PHS Home page, the ESL Department page as well as your Home Room page.  Students, please check your emails as well.

    NHS is hosting a blood drive this Friday, March 3rd in the East Gym.  You can donate before school starting at 7:45 or during any free period.  Sign up during homeroom any day this week.  NHS members will be in the cafeteria Wednesday and Thursday to help students register as well.  Any 16 year old will need a parent permission slip.  All donors should bring a photo ID and will receive a $5 Subway gift card for donating.  See Mrs. Gabrielson with any questions.

    Best Buddies

    Fellow Pirates: March is National ‘Spread the Word to End the Word’ month. The R-word hurts because it is exclusive, it’s offensive, and it’s derogatory. Best Buddies would like to cordially invite you to attend a special, 15 minute presentation this Monday, February 27th. Come join us in the auditorium during your lunch period to help support this important campaign. Exact times TBA.

    Variety Show

    Come find out how YOU can participate in The 2017 Variety Show! We will hold a meeting so you know everything you need to know about upcoming auditions. Meet Tuesday, February 28th in the auditorium before school at 7:40 or after school at 3:35.

    Girls Badminton

    Girls Badminton Try Outs will begin on Monday, February 27 and Tuesday, February 28th in the East Gym from 3:30-5:45 pm.  Please be ready to play, if you have questions please see Coach West in Transition Services.


    Save the date! Palatine’s Promise and SADD will be hosting a Health & Safety Fair during all lunch periods on Friday March 3rd.  Over 25 companies/agencies will be available for you to speak with about physical health, mental health emotional health and overall living a healthy lifestyle.  Every booth you stop at, you will be given a raffle ticket that can then be submitted to win prizes. Some of the great prizes we are offering this year include lunch gift certificates, gym memberships, prom tickets, and a free tuxedo rental to prom.

    Boy’s Lacrosse

    “Boy’s Lacrosse tryouts will take place starting next Monday, February 27 in the East Gym.

    Freshmen and Sophomore tryouts will be from 7:30pm – 9:00pm.

    Juniors and Seniors will tryout 8:15pm – 10:00pm.

    Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    FCA will be having a food drive next week February 27th- March 3rd. The drive will be directly benefiting the Blessings in a Backpack program beginning in our school. The goal of this program is to provide food on the weekends for 50 students at our school. We encourage all homerooms to bring in cans and other non perishable foods like pasta and granola bars. The food will be collected in homerooms next week! The top homerooms in each grade will be given the opportunity to pie participating teachers and staff members in the face!     The next Junior/Senior Principal’s Advisory Board meeting will be held during 5th period on February 28th in the Principal’s Conference Room.   Any Junior or Senior students interested in attending are welcome.
