    Senior Class

    “Attention Seniors!
    It is not too late to order your senior panoramic photo. All order forms need to be turned into Mrs. Grapenthin of the Scarlet Team by no later than Friday, October 20. If you need an order envelope, see Mrs. Grapenthin.”

    German Exchange

    Interested in traveling to Germany and Holland next summer? Come to an informational meeting on Thursday, October 19th at 5:00pm in Room 293. See Mr. Kuechenberg with any questions.

    Girl’s Gymnastics

    There will be a pre-season meeting for Girls Gymnastics on Wednesday, October 18th @ 3:45-4:00 pm in the gymnastics gym. See you there!

    Competition Poms

    Tryouts for the competition dance team are Monday, October 23rd after school in the dance room. See Coach Mitchell for details!

    Writer’s Day

    Interested in performing at Writer’s Day this year? Here’s your chance! Calling all poets, fiction writers, songwriters, playwrights, essayists! Writer’s Day student auditions will take place after school Wednesday, October 25 in room 200. The only requirement is that you come and read something you wrote yourself. All genres and styles are welcome, and length is not an issue. See Miss Lindstrom or Mr. Fisher in English with questions, or if you can’t make the audition!

    Breast Cancer Awareness

    The Palatine Pink Out is coming soon!! Help us raise money for the American Cancer Society by purchasing pink items sold in the cafeteria October 18th-October 20th. There will be pink short sleeve and long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, socks, pencils, ribbons and other pink items for sale. The football game on Friday, October 20th will be a Pink Out to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer! Please help support this great cause!

    Winter Musical

    Auditions for this year’s Winter Musical, Footloose, will be held Monday, October 23, Tuesday, October 24, and Wednesday, October 25. You must attend all days of auditions to be considered for a role. No experience is required, but we are looking for talented and enthusiastic singers, actors, and dancers! If you’re interested in auditioning, pick up an audition packet from Mr. Koehlinger in the music department, and attend the Vocal Workshops on Wednesday, October 18 or Friday, October 20 to learn the music and practice for your audition.     Skate Club

    Skate Club will meet Thursday October 19th after school in room 152. Bring your board and get ready to shred.

    Palatine’s Promise

    Palatine’s PROMISE is hosting Lunchapalooza in the cafeteria during all lunch hours on Oct 26th and 27th. Do you sing? Dance? Perform stand up comedy? Slam Poetry? Lasso tricks? We need you! Come to tryouts after school on Thursday, Oct 12th at 3:30pm in Room 165. See the student homeroom page for the link to google tryout form.

    SADD

    Do you want to be the next Palatine Student to win a FREE car? If you will have your drivers license by April 1st make sure you take the oath and fill out a safe driving contract. Turn it in to Mrs. Madl or Mrs. McGinn. Contracts can be found in the main office or the FCS office. If you have any questions see Mrs Madl in the FCS department.

    Drama Club

    PHS Drama Club is proud to announce this year’s Winter Musical, Footloose! Auditions will be Monday, October 23rd, Tuesday, October 24th, and Wednesday, October 25th.     Latino Summit Scholarship

    Seniors, the application for the Latino Summit Scholarship is due by Oct. 20th. It is not a requirement that you attended Latino Summit in the past to apply. Please see Ms. Fullerton or Ms. Moreno in English, or Mrs. Nunez in Math for more information. Thank you!

    Competitive Cheerleading

    Tryouts for the Competitive Cheer Teams will take place on Monday, October 23rd in the student cafeteria. Varsity tryouts will begin at 3:45PM and JV tryouts will begin at 5PM. All interested students must be registered for tryouts and have a valid physical on file with the nurse. See Coach Dolen or Coach Watanuki with questions.

    Career Trek

    Students interested in careers in cosmetology, sign up in Student Services for the October 26 career trek to Mario Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. We will learn about the following careers: stylist, make-up artist, skin care specialist, barber, salon manager, cosmetology instructor.

    Students interested in careers in physical, occupational or speech therapy, or athletic training, sign up in Student Services for the November 2 career trek to Northwest Community Hospital’s Wellness Center.
