    Business Law

    Are you interested in a career in Law or Law Enforcement? Business Law class has a limited number of spaces open for a career trek to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Thursday, February 15th. See Mrs. Byrne in Student Services for a Field Trip Form.

    Senior Class

    Hey, Class of 2018! It’s YOUR turn to compete in the annual Mr. Pirate contest. You know you want the title of Mr. Pirate, right? Well . . . now is your chance. Applications are available in all senior homerooms. All applications are due to Mrs. Grapenthin of the Scarlet Team no later than 3:30 PM on Friday, February 2.


    Don’t forget NHS applications are due this Friday, the 26th at 3:30 pm. No late applications will be considered. See Mrs. Gabrielson in Science or Mr. O’Connell with any questions.


    If you are a freshman or a sophomore, you can join a TRUST group. TRUST groups are run by junior and senior TRUST leaders who guide you through various activities that help you to make new friends, get to know yourself, and to become familiar with Palatine High School. Sign up sheets are available in the Scarlet, Grey and White teams. All sign up sheets are due no later than Friday, February 2. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Grapenthin of the Scarlet Team or Mrs. Capalbo or Mrs. Sobol of the grey team.

    Service Club

    Want to help make a child’s day more fun? Please consider bringing in a game or puzzle that will donated to Virginia Lake elementary school!! Service Club will be collecting games and puzzles from now until February 2nd. New or gently used games and puzzles can be placed in the boxes by the main entrances or given to Mrs. Guthrie or Mrs. Berleman in the Social Studies office. Thank you!!

    D211 Summer Interships

    “If you are interested in applying for one of the summer internships offered through the D211 Internship Program, you must join the Schoology Course RPCG6-58VQR and follow the steps outlined.
    More than 50 internships/apprenticeships are currently available.”


    Palatine’s PROMISE will be hosting Danceapalooza in our cafeteria during all lunch hours on Friday, March 16th. If you are interesting in performing, start preparing your act! We will have more information in announcements soon about how to sign up!

    Career Trek

    “A career presentation on veterinary careers including: Veterinarian, Vet. Tech. and Animal Behavior Specialist is scheduled for January 31.
    If you are interested in attending this presentation, pick up a permission form in Student Services.”

    A career trek to Motorola Solutions is scheduled for February 7. If you are interested in learning about careers in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Engineering, sign up in Student Services for the trek. Motorola will also present information about their summer internship program.

    Next State Meeting is Thursday the 25th!”


    Come see this year’s Winter Musical, FOOTLOOSE! Performances are Wednesday, January 24; Thursday, January 25; Friday, January 26; and Saturday, January 27; at 7:00pm each night. Tickets are only $7 for PHS students and $10 for adults, and they are available in the main office. Everybody cut footloose!

    Girls Water Polo

    Attention all girls interested in playing water polo this spring: there will be a mandatory informational meeting on Thursday, January 25 at 7:45am in room 316. See Mr. Tucker in Science with any questions.


    Pirates, Commit to the Pirate, wants to remind you to turn in your red tickets to the monthly locker. January’s prize is a $10 gift card to Target.

    Principal’s Advisory Board Meeting

    The next Junior and Senior Principal’s Advisory Board Meeting is schedule for Monday, January 29th, 8th period in the Principal’s Conference Room. Any Junior or Senior student interested in attending, is welcome.

    The next Freshman and Sophomore Principal’s Advisory Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30th, 6th hour in the Principal’s Conference Room. Any Freshman or Sophomore student interested in attending is welcome
