Adolescents are faced with academic and social pressure on a daily basis. Balancing emotional health and mental wellness with the demands and stress associated with being an adolescent can be a challenge for many of our students.

In our continued effort to support our communities and all our students’ wellness, High School District 211 is pleased to invite parents and community members to an upcoming Community Education Session for Mental Health Awareness. The session will be on Tuesday, December 12 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at William Fremd High School.

Date: Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Time: 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Place: Fremd H.S. Library, 1000 S. Quentin Road in Palatine

Representatives from Northwest Community Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavorial Health Department will discuss current trends regarding teens and mental health and the continuum of signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Presenters also will provide tools for parents on how to initiate the conversation regarding wellness and mental health with their adolescents, and presenters will share resources within the community.

Community education is important to High School District 211, and involvement will help our schools strengthen our commitment to serve all students. All sessions are open to the public and offered free of charge.
